~ AT&T ANNOUNCES BIOACOUSTICS AS "THE MEDICINE OF THE FUTURE ~
Southeastern Ohio has long been a venue for innovation and the pioneering spirit. Recently one of the most novel topics to come out of this area has been acknowledged by another giant, AT&T, who recently announced that "bioacoustics is the medicine of the future".
The Albany area Institute of BioAcoustic Biology & Sound Health opened it's doors to the public in 1991 in the Spencer Building on East State Street. The Center soon outgrew that space and moved to Hocking College property on Nelsonville and later to Lake Snowden near Albany. In 2006, the educational research facility moved to it's present location in the old Albany School which also houses the Albany Police Station, the Village Mayor's Office and the new, Old School House Cafe.
Throughout the years, the Center's research has been involved with such diverse projects as helping Elton John's sound manager and band members at Madison Square Garden, to conducting a US Army sponsored project dealing with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Vetting political figures and famous people is one of their most requested services.
Thousands of people from around the Globe have travelled to the Athens area to attend classes and conferences and to become research subjects at the BioAcoustic Clinic. More than a few have bopped in on their private jets to the nearby OU (Ohio University) airport.
Many physicians have worked with the Institute and are featured in the documentary, "Miracles of Non-Medicine", which is availabloe to the public for download from SoundHealthOptions.com/secretstash.html.
A current project on cell signaling, particularly Parkinson's, was recently completed. Some of the results were published in "Parkinson's Recovery" by Robert Rodgers, PhD. Rodgers new book "The Many Faces of Parkinson's" will be co-authored with the Institutes Director, Sharry Edqards, MEd.
